The Union of the Comoros has been committed to the implementation of the SDGs since their adoption in 2015. With the support of the United Nations System, through the UNDP, the country has carried out the contextualization and prioritization of the SDG targets by involving public institutions, civil society, the private sector and development partners. This resulted in 68 SDG targets with indicators aligned with the country's priorities, specific challenges and statistical capacities. The Comoros Emerging Plan (PCE) for 2030 is the reference document for the implementation of the SDGs. Adopted in 2019, under the leadership of the President of the Union of the Comoros, the PCE advocates a combined implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda and the African Union Agenda 2063. It is articulated in five strategic bases and five catalysts allowing to better take into account the intersectorialities, for a coherent and effective implementation of the policies and programs of development.
