Labor and Employment
Emiratization, a program designed to achieve a target ratio of domestic to foreign workers employed by the private sector in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is the source of considerable debate in the economic and political arena of the country. This paper applies the Ramsey Theorem and within the context of a break-even constraint, explains the problems associated with emiratization and explore conditions under which a higher participation of native workers in the UAE labor market could be achieved.
